Amanda Bynes, the beloved star of The Amanda Show, is back in the music scene with a fresh vibe. This week, she will unveil ‘Girlfriend,’ her first new song in years, hitting streaming platforms on Friday, October 26. Teasing a blend of cutting-edge sounds in her latest project, Amanda shared that the track draws inspiration from the dynamic worlds of EDM and rap.
“My inspiration was a lot of EDM, as well as rap,” Amanda revealed to E! News, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting musical direction.
The 40-year-old actress and singer teamed up with rapper Fenix Flexin for this release. Signed under the Create Music Group label, known for its work with industry giants like Jason Derulo and Deadmau5, Amanda’s comeback is already generating buzz. The label describes ‘Girlfriend’ as a high-energy fusion of melodic rap and EDM-inspired beats, designed with a catchy hook and a flirtatious, confident vibe.
“Featuring Fenix Flexin, it taps into a familiar L.A. sound while staying fresh and accessible,” the label shared in a statement, hinting at the track's potential to make waves across playlists.
Amanda, who previously ventured into music with the track 'Diamonds' alongside then-fiancé Paul Michael in 2022, hinted at this comeback as early as February. She expressed excitement about her "straight fire" collaboration with Fenix, marking a significant step in her artistic journey.
Outside of music, Amanda has embraced various creative pursuits. She showcased her art in an exhibition and launched a clothing pop-up in 2024. Last year, she joined OnlyFans to connect more personally with her audience, assuring fans, “I won’t be posting any sleazy content. Excited to join.”
Having taken a break from Hollywood due to personal struggles, including an Adderall addiction, Amanda has been open about her journey to wellness. Last year, she even shared a major weight loss milestone with her followers, crediting Ozempic for her transformation.
