Antonio Brown, the former NFL wide receiver notorious for his bold social media presence, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) with a controversial remark aimed at Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. Biles had been spotted sharing a supportive kiss with her husband, Jonathan Owens, just before his Chicago Bears faced off against the Detroit Lions.
Despite Biles' affectionate gesture, the Bears suffered a crushing 52-21 defeat, marking their second consecutive loss this season. Owens, who is in his second season as a safety for the team, contributed by making two tackles during the game.
Brown didn't hold back his thoughts, tweeting, “Those handj**bs gotta be wild” in reference to Biles and Owens. The comment, which has since gone viral, sparked widespread backlash for its explicit nature and lack of tact.
“Antonio Brown's comments are just another example of his penchant for stirring the pot on social media,” said a fan on X.
The Bears, looking to shift their fortunes, are set to face the Dallas Cowboys in their next game. With new coach Ben Johnson at the helm, there's optimism for a turnaround.
While evading authorities in the United Arab Emirates, Brown remains active online, making headlines with his controversial takes. Recently, he commented on the tragic murder of activist Charlie Kirk, which Fox News reported was committed by a transgender individual, Tyler Robinson.
Brown tweeted, “Now this is making sense…” in response to news of Robinson's involvement, displaying his ongoing stance against the LGBTQIA+ community. The murder has garnered significant attention, with US President Donald Trump calling for the death penalty for Robinson, currently held without bail.
Brown's social media presence continues to court controversy, reflecting his disregard for societal norms and further alienating him from public favor.
