In a case that's captured the public's attention, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has apprehended a Bangladeshi couple from Bandarban. Known in the adult entertainment scene, they face serious charges related to the production and distribution of explicit content online. The duo had been publicly presenting themselves as 'models' but were allegedly involved in posting regular adult videos on international adult websites.
During a press briefing on Monday, Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan unveiled details of the couple's online activities. They had been uploading adult content to a foreign website, quickly rising to claim top positions among the world's most-visited adult platforms. The couple entered the public eye after an investigative report by the online news outlet, the Dissent, highlighted their operations.
“Their reach was staggering, with content spread across major adult sites in Europe and the US, and even social media platforms,” remarked a CID official.
The couple's journey into adult entertainment reportedly started in May 2024, and within a year, they had released over a hundred videos, amassing a significant international following. Their digital footprint extended beyond a single platform, as they shared content on Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram. Their Telegram channel alone boasted several thousand members, where they shared video links and discussed earnings.
The arrest has sparked conversations about the intersections of digital fame, legality, and personal branding in the modern creator economy. As the legal proceedings unfold, the case raises questions about the challenges and responsibilities faced by content creators operating on global platforms.
