Bryan Cranston is issuing a playful warning to fans of 'Malcolm in the Middle' as he makes a comeback as Hal in the show's highly-anticipated revival. Known for his role as Walter White in 'Breaking Bad', Cranston is now embracing the antics of Hal once more, this time with a little less clothing and a lot more laughs.
The revival, titled Life’s Still Unfair, is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 10. Cranston is already preparing fans for some unexpected scenes where Hal's antics might require a little extra discretion. "Turn away and cover your kid’s eyes," the actor joked in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, acknowledging scenes where Hal appears naked not just once, but twice in the new episodes.
Cranston reminisced about Hal's unique persona, quipping that nudity seems to be a hallmark of his career. "Hal’s going to be naked at some point during this thing," he affirmed as he recalled the character's nudity fitting into the show's free-spirited ethos. The four-episode run embraces Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary across four comedic half-hour episodes.
“Taking my clothes off seems to be my whole life,” Cranston humorously commented, reflecting on the bolder roles that have peppered his career, including a recent Emmy-winning performance in Seth Rogen's comedy, The Studio.
Cranston's commitment to comedy has been nothing short of daring. During the original series run, he famously donned a suit made from 60,000 honey bees and even drank a raw meat concoction, all in pursuit of laughs. In the upcoming revival, expect more of the same dedication. Hal will take on a supermarket dance routine and unwittingly consume enough hallucinogens to rival an entire zoo of elephants.
The revival promises to bring back the beloved chaos that made 'Malcolm in the Middle' a hit, inviting fans to once again revel in Hal's wild, comedic escapades. Mark your calendars for April 10, when Life’s Still Unfair debuts on Disney+.
