Charlie Sheen, the renowned actor best known for his roles in 'Two and a Half Men' and 'Platoon', has shared a personal revelation about his family life. Sheen hasn't spoken to his daughter, Sami Sheen, in over a year due to disagreements about her decision to join OnlyFans, a subscription-based platform known for adult content, back in 2022.
Sami, now a creator on OnlyFans, was drawn to the platform by the allure of flexible working hours and financial independence. Her mother, Denise Richards, initially had reservations, encouraging Sami to reconsider her decision. In line with Richards, Sheen expressed his initial concerns during an interview with Bustle, stating, "I had a knee-jerk reaction to it because of the reputation that preceded it. I was just like, ‘Oh, this can only go bad.'"
Reflecting on the fallout, Sheen admitted that not speaking to Sami has been a challenging experience. "Yeah, it’s awful. I can’t lie to you. But I’m almost unrealistically optimistic, because I have to be... there’s always shots to repair anything," he told Page Six. Despite the current silence, Sheen holds onto hope that their relationship can be mended. He emphasized the necessity of reopening communication to heal their rift.
“It saddens me, but I have hope and I have faith that it can be restored, but that can’t happen until there’s a line of communication that reopens.”
While Sheen has been critical of Sami's career path, he also acknowledged the importance of family support. "She’s doing this and it can only be a much more successful and pleasant experience with the support of myself, her mom, and others," Sheen remarked. He remains confident in Sami's virtues and her ability to withstand the pressures of public scrutiny.
Initially, Sami faced significant backlash online for her decision to join the adult-only platform. However, she also received supportive messages from her followers. "I could have mascara running down my face, and they would still be like, ‘You’re so beautiful,’ this and this," she shared, highlighting the positive reinforcement she received amid criticism.
The actor is currently in the limelight due to a new Netflix documentary titled aka Charlie Sheen, which delves into his life story. Featuring anecdotes from his second ex-wife Denise Richards, Oscar-winner Sean Penn, and comedian Chris Tucker, the documentary offers an intimate view of Sheen's life, including his experiences with same-sex relationships, which he described as 'f****ng liberating'.
