Republican Candidate's Online Habits Under Scrutiny

Conservative figure Bill Berrien, who entered the Wisconsin governor race in July 2026, has been thrust into the spotlight for following sexually explicit accounts on Medium. Berrien, CEO of Pindel Global Precision, has been advocating for conservative 'family values' while aligning with figures like Donald Trump and voicing anti-LGBTQIA+ sentiments.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel illuminated this contradiction by revealing that Berrien followed numerous NSFW accounts, including those by non-binary adult film star Jiz Lee, and sex-positive writers like Octavio Morrison and Emma Austin. These revelations have cast a shadow over his traditionalist campaign narratives.

“It's absurd to suggest that reading articles about sex as a happily married adult man is out of line with conservative Catholic values,” said a spokeswoman from Berrien’s campaign.

Campaign Reacts to Public Outcry

In response to the backlash, Berrien's team removed 23 accounts from his Medium following list after the publication's inquiry. His representatives dismissed the allegations, emphasizing that merely reading an article doesn't equate to endorsing an author’s complete oeuvre or personal lifestyle.

Berrien addressed the issue himself, downplaying the significance of his past online activity and criticizing the media for diverting attention away from his political agenda. “There are a lot of important issues that are affecting our state and nation,” he stated, lamenting the focus on "stupid articles."

Public and Media Reactions

Despite attempts to steer the narrative, Berrien's actions have been labeled hypocritical by critics, including those in the adult entertainment community. Jiz Lee publicly denounced Berrien's behavior, highlighting the incongruity between his personal actions and political advocacy.

“It’s okay to follow trans porn stars. It’s okay to read articles about sex and relationships,” Lee responded. “What’s not okay is the hypocrisy of backing forceful legislation that restricts what people, trans and otherwise, can do with their own bodies. That is shameful.”
