Anime Aficionados, Fasten Your Seatbelts

Anime fans with wanderlust, your in-flight experience is about to reach new heights. Crunchyroll has announced a new partnership with Delta Air Lines to offer a specially curated selection of anime as part of their in-flight entertainment, beginning in early November. Whether you're a seasoned anime enthusiast or a curious newcomer, you'll find plenty to enjoy in this extensive offering.

50,000+ Episodes Ready for Takeoff

Passengers on Delta flights can dive into a treasure trove of over 50,000 anime episodes from more than 2,000 titles. Some of the standout shows include 'Black Clover', where the quest to become the Wizard King unfolds, and 'Horimiya', which explores surprising facets of high school life. There's also 'Fruits Basket', 'My Roommate is a Cat', and the gripping 'Solo Leveling'. With such a diverse lineup, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

“This is an exciting fusion of travel and entertainment, bringing beloved anime series right to your seat,” commented a spokesperson from the collaboration.

Entertainment at Your Fingertips

The anime collection will be accessible on over 940 Delta aircraft, letting passengers enjoy these series via seatback screens for a seamless viewing experience. Plus, Delta SkyMiles members can indulge in a 24-hour free trial of Crunchyroll, available through Delta's onboard Wi-Fi. The trial can be activated during the flight or after touchdown, making it ideal whether you're exploring or revisiting anime hits.

Crunchyroll's Expanding Universe

This venture with Delta is just the latest in Crunchyroll’s series of strategic expansions. Earlier this year, the platform made waves by launching on YouTube Primetime Channels and rolling out a 24/7 anime linear channel on platforms like Amazon Freevee and Roku. It’s also expanded its reach via Amazon Prime Video Channels in multiple countries, furthering its mission to be the global anime hub.

Since Sony's significant acquisition of Crunchyroll in 2021 for $1.175 billion, the platform has been consolidating its brand by distributing Funimation’s home video releases under the Crunchyroll name. This in-flight entertainment initiative marks another major milestone, taking anime to new altitudes, literally.
