Elle Fanning Tackles Bold Scenes in New Series

Elle Fanning is making waves with her fearless approach to on-screen nudity in the new Apple TV+ series, Margo's Got Money Troubles. Known for her daring roles, Fanning candidly discusses how she embraces these scenes, particularly highlighting their narrative significance over mere sensationalism.

Breaking Boundaries with Confidence

Fanning reveals that her comfort with on-screen nudity began with her portrayal of Catherine the Great in Hulu’s The Great. "I feel like I kind of broke that down in The Great," she tells People. "I’ve kind of already done this." She expresses pride in how her latest role uses nudity not for cheap thrills but to deepen the storytelling.

“I am really proud of how the nudity is depicted in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, because it’s not in an overly sexualized way at all," Fanning shares.

Motherhood and OnlyFans: A Nuanced Portrayal

In Margo's Got Money Troubles, nudity is intricately tied to the character’s journey through motherhood and financial struggles, including her turn to OnlyFans. "A lot of it is actually just having to do with the necessities of motherhood, the need to feed your child and breastfeed," Fanning explains. This approach allows the series to explore personal and societal relationships with the body.

Behind the Scenes: The Magic of Prosthetics

Fanning also shares a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, revealing she used prosthetics for breastfeeding scenes. "A lot of the time, I did have prosthetics to make [my boobs] look like breastfeeding boobs and milk that would squirt out this contraption that they had," she elaborates, adding a touch of humor to the often daunting task of filming intimate scenes.

Margo's Got Money Troubles is now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
