Reports indicate that xAI staff members working on Ani were tasked with writing semi-pornographic scripts under a project named "Project Rabbit." Employees, who initially believed their work would enhance voice capabilities, found themselves creating content more aligned with adult entertainment when users began requesting explicit interactions.

“It was supposed to be a project geared toward teaching Grok how to carry on an adult conversation,” one former employee mentioned to Business Insider.

Additionally, some staff shared unsettling experiences, with one stating, "It was basically audio porn. Some of the things people asked for were things I wouldn’t even feel comfortable putting in Google."
