In a bold legal move, Florida's Attorney General is taking on a number of websites that allegedly bypass age verification checks for users accessing adult gaming content. The lawsuit points the finger at Lustyheroes.com, Nutaku.net, and SpiceVids.com, accusing them of not ensuring users are at least 18 years old. This legal action is backed by a state law that was enforced starting January, demanding age checks for these platforms.
Attorney General James Uthmeier, who's been vocal about his commitment to protecting minors online, has filed two separate lawsuits in Florida's 12th Judicial Circuit. This includes DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. The first lawsuit targets Lustyheroes.com, a known portal for online pornographic video games. The second lawsuit is against the parent company of Pornhub, focusing specifically on their websites Nutaku.net and SpiceVids.com, which are also accused of not verifying the ages of their visitors.
“Florida is committed to being the best place to raise children. We passed strong legislation to keep kids from being exposed to harmful and toxic material, and instead of following it, these platforms ignored it,” said Uthmeier in a news release.
While Aylo, the company behind sites like Pornhub.com, SpiceVids.com, and Nutaku.net, has not provided a comment, the lawsuit highlights a critical issue in online content regulation. The lawsuit follows a recent legal challenge against XVideos.com, another major player in the adult content space, marking Florida's continuing efforts to enforce age verification laws.
Gethins Limited, the Cyprus-based distributor for Lustyheroes.com, is yet to respond publicly to the allegations. These moves solidify Florida's position on maintaining strict adherence to state law, aiming to curb the exposure of minors to adult content online.
