A Florida woman's Airbnb escapades have landed her in hot water. Nicolette Keough, 31, from Pensacola, has been charged with felony criminal mischief after allegedly causing over $3,000 in damages by urinating on various properties in two Airbnb rentals. The Pensacola Police Department (PPD) states that Keough filmed these acts and uploaded the videos to an adult website to earn money.
Among the items reported to be destroyed were a television, coffee pot, rug, along with an antique Crown Royal chair, typewriter, and a record player. The police report suggests that the incidents occurred in two separate Airbnb properties owned by the same individual on the same street.
“Keough's actions led to extensive damage and significant concern for the property owners,” said a spokesperson from the Pensacola Police Department.
The property owner discovered videos online showing Keough in the acts, which allegedly left a strong odor of urine in the rental home. Following the incident, Airbnb removed Keough from their platform and is assisting the host with a reimbursement request through AirCover, a protection plan for hosts.
An Airbnb representative stated, “This kind of behavior has no place on Airbnb. Property damage is rare, and we support our hosts with 24/7 global Community Support.”
Keough was arrested after police investigations and has since been released on bond. As of now, it remains unclear whether she has secured legal representation. Despite the severity of the allegations, instances like these are not common, and Airbnb assures hosts of their comprehensive support systems.
