Gwyneth Paltrow is back on the big screen with A24's latest film, 'Marty Supreme', marking her return to acting after almost a decade. The film features her as an aging film star who embarks on an unexpected romance with Timothée Chalamet's character, Marty. Filled with steamy moments between the two, the movie has caught attention not only for its storyline but also for its more intimate scenes.
Paltrow's son, Moses, joined her at the Los Angeles premiere, where he experienced firsthand his mom's on-screen chemistry with Chalamet. Recalling the event, Paltrow joked with Demi Moore about her son's reaction, saying, "He wanted to die." Despite the initial embarrassment, Moses' overall impression of the film was positive, telling his mother it was "incredible," although he admitted to watching some scenes with his hands over his eyes.
"My daughter's so cool and so punk rock that she's like, 'Mom, this is awesome!' And my son was like, 'Oh my God, I don't want to see this.' He was kind of mortified," Paltrow shared.
While her son's reaction was mixed, Paltrow shared her perspective on the steamy scenes during a British Vogue interview. She described the relationship between her character Kay and Chalamet's Marty as "transactional" and "not a romance," while acknowledging the significant age gap with humor. Meanwhile, her 21-year-old daughter, Apple, had a different take, finding her mother's role "awesome."
Despite the varied reactions from her children, Paltrow is embracing her role in 'Marty Supreme' and the buzz it has generated, both onscreen and off.
