The Canadian sports romance series "Heated Rivalry" has set the rumor mill abuzz with its compelling storyline and the chemistry between its lead actors. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie bring to life the characters Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, captains of rival hockey teams embroiled in a secret affair. The show's debut on HBO Max and Crave in Canada has led viewers to speculate about the real-life sexual orientations of the stars.
Jacob Tierney, the mind behind the adaptation of Rachel Reid’s "Game Changers" book series, emphasizes that personal lives should stay personal. "I don’t think there’s any reason to get into that stuff. … You can’t ask questions like that when you’re casting, right? It’s actually against the law," Tierney shared with Xtra. He highlighted the dedication of Williams and Storrie to their roles, stating, "They came into this being like, ‘Yeah, we’re here to do this, and we are here to make this story feel authentic and to be as real as possible.’ And they f—ing hit it out of the park."

The series' steamy scenes are crafted with the help of intimacy coordinator Chala Hunter. Hudson Williams revealed that Hunter provided the right balance of guidance and freedom, allowing the actors to explore their characters' relationships deeply. "I’ve had stifling intimacy coordinators before... Our show, even though we had to get good blocking and choreography, after that we talked about the who, what, where and when," Williams explained to Xtra.
With the first two episodes already released, "Heated Rivalry" continues to captivate audiences with its blend of drama and romance. New episodes are set to drop every Friday at 3 a.m. ET, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Enthusiastic viewers have taken to social media with one tweeting, "I’ve seen enough, go ahead and greenlight six seasons and [a] movie #heatedrivalry," while another declared, "Heated Rivalry is a perfect show. no notes."
