On December 3, 2025, Wisconsin's own Charlie Berens joined forces with Hollywood heavyweight Hugh Jackman for an unforgettable evening at Kegel's Inn in West Allis. The pair delighted patrons with their lively banter and playful antics behind the bar. The inn's Instagram gave fans a glimpse into the duo's night, featuring a clip where the two discussed – and joked about – Australia's Warriewood Blowhole. It was a night of classic bar chatter, seasoned with a dash of cheeky humor.
Jackman, ever the charismatic storyteller, explained the science behind the Warriewood Blowhole to Berens. "You have the ocean that's coming up and the erosion goes in and so it forms a cave," Jackman shared with enthusiasm. "It'll shoot up and it'll be like a geyser, just with like spraying water." All the while, Berens was busy crafting drinks, while Jackman appeared to enjoy both a stein and a likely old fashioned made with Berens Old Fashioned Brandy, a nod to the night's festive spirit.
“So THAT happened! We’re still buzzing over here after hosting the incredible Charlie Berens and the one-and-only Hugh Jackman!” enthused Kegel's Inn in a Facebook post.
Jackman was in town for the Milwaukee premiere of 'Song Sung Blue,' where he stars as Milwaukee's beloved Mike Sardina. Kegel's Inn was quick to share moments from the night on Facebook, celebrating their time with Jackman and Berens as they joined the inn's crew for photos. The evening was not only a memorable experience for the patrons but a fitting kick-off to Kegel's 101st birthday celebrations.
It was a busy time for Berens too, with his latest comedy special, 'Neighborly,' recently released on YouTube. Filmed at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, the special adds another feather to Berens' cap, making the night at Kegel's Inn a highlight in a week to remember.
