A South Park Tradition: Poking Fun at Public Figures

For 28 seasons, South Park has been a cornerstone of animated satire, unafraid to take jabs at high-profile figures, including former President Donald Trump. One of the show's standout moments has been its cheeky, NSFW portrayal of Trump, a recurring gag that continues to amuse fans. Recently, the creative duo behind the show, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, spilled the beans on how they brought this scene to life.

The Story Behind the NSFW Scene

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Parker and Stone gave audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how they humorously depicted Trump with a micropenis. Kimmel began the interview with a playful jab, asking, "Why aren’t you guys in a gulag somewhere, shackled down in a basement?" Parker retorted with wit, "We don’t get out that much, but we hide behind cartoons."

“We actually brought our deepfake AI rig to show you how we did Donald Trump’s weiner on the show,” Parker revealed, adding a touch of humor to the conversation with a prop demonstration.

With a piece of fake foreskin and doodly eyes, Parker showcased their comedic process, to which Kimmel responded, "If he doesn’t burn down the Smithsonian, I hope that that winds up in the Smithsonian someday." The late-night host even joined in on the fun, adorning his finger with the foreskin and playfully addressing it.

More Comic Creations

The interview also touched on the creators' decision to portray Vice President JD Vance as a comical version of Tattoo from Fantasy Island. "It was just gonna be a one-off joke," they explained, "but we loved it so much that it became more." This playful ingenuity is a testament to why South Park remains a beloved staple of satirical animation.
