Jacob Elordi has officially said goodbye to one of his most buzzworthy roles. In the third season of HBO's Euphoria, the Australian actor's character, Nate Jacobs, met an untimely and startling demise. Throughout the season, Nate was on a desperate mission to settle his seven-figure debt, relying heavily on his wife, Cassie Jacobs, played by Sydney Sweeney. However, things took a wild turn as Nate found himself trapped in a wooden box underground at his own construction site.

In a dramatic twist, while calling for help, Nate attracted an unexpected visitor – a rattlesnake. It slithered into his breathing hole and delivered a fatal bite. By the time Cassie and Nate's ex, Maddie Perez (portrayed by Alexa Demie), discovered him, it was too late. The sight of his gruesome appearance left them in shock.

Behind the Scenes: Filming the Final Moments

After the episode aired, Jacob Elordi shared his experience filming those intense final scenes in HBO's post-show recap. Surprisingly, the actor didn't find the coffin scenes overwhelming. "It was really nice, actually – quite peaceful in there," he confessed.

“My shoulders were touching the side and they couldn't move my arms, then they would drill the lid on it and it would get dark,” he added.

The scenes took an unexpected turn when creator Sam Levinson added a real snake to the mix. Despite the cramped quarters, Jacob remained unfazed. "He was super cute; he was really cuddly," Jacob mentioned of the boa constrictor. "I had to kind of nudge him to get him to come up and that was it." The only "alarming" part was the snake's rattling, he admitted.

Reflecting on Nate's Journey

Though saying goodbye to Euphoria was bittersweet, Jacob Elordi is content with how Nate's story concluded. "Nate was someone who has made so many mistakes and made so many dark choices," he reflected. "It's cool to see it all come to what it's come to."

For Jacob, Euphoria has been more than just a job. "This show is a massive part of – not just my career – but my life," he concluded. "It's been amazing and I'm so proud of being a part of this."

Since the show's debut in 2019, Jacob has navigated numerous challenges as Nate, from his tumultuous relationship with Maddie to uncovering his father's complicated secret life. As the third season kicked off, Nate was preparing to marry Cassie while juggling financial struggles with his construction business. Yet, it all came crashing down as his wife pursued a career in adult content, leaving Nate to face the music alone.
