“I knew it would be a perfect fit for Jennifer as soon as I read the listing,” director Gene Stupnitsky shared in a chat about the film's inception.

Star-Studded Cast and Creative Minds

The movie brings together an impressive cast with Andrew Barth Feldman playing the bashful Percy, alongside Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Hasan Minhaj in key roles. Directed by Gene Stupnitsky, who co-wrote the script with John Phillips, the film draws inspiration from an actual Craigslist post—adding a layer of realism to its comedic core.

Behind-the-Scenes Revelations

Interestingly, the concept for No Hard Feelings sparked over a dinner conversation between Stupnitsky and Lawrence. Despite their long-time friendship, this marked their first collaboration. When the script was ready, Lawrence jumped on board not only as the lead but also as a co-producer through her company, Excellent Cadaver.

A Success Story

Upon its initial release on June 23, 2023, by Sony Pictures Releasing, the film won over both critics and audiences. Scoring 71% from critics and 86% from moviegoers on Rotten Tomatoes, it grossed about $87.2 million worldwide. Not too shabby for a movie born from an amusing Craigslist post!
