Kelly and Mark's Holiday Gift Dilemma

Looks like the Consuelos kids might not be unwrapping any gifts from their famous parents this Christmas. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently shared their thoughts on holiday gifting for their adult children during a candid chat on their joint show, "Live With Kelly and Mark."

The couple, who are proud parents to Michael (28), Lola (24), and Joaquin (22), started a lighthearted debate over whether or not their children should still get Christmas presents. Mark kicked things off by asserting, "Kids are old now. I’m not getting them anything," which took Kelly by surprise.

The Great Gift Debate

Not one to stay quiet, Kelly questioned her husband's stance, asking, "You’re not getting them anything?" Mark, sticking to his guns, suggested that handing them a check might be a suitable alternative, adding, "Give them like a check or something and say, 'Merry Christmas!'"

However, as their conversation unfolded, even Mark began to second-guess his no-gift policy, admitting, "I don’t know. That sounds bad. That sounds really bad."

"Handing out checks as Christmas gifts? It just doesn't have the same magic," one fan commented online, reflecting the mixed public reactions to the couple's debate.

Life in an Empty Nest

The conversation is just the latest instance of the couple's openness about family life on-air. Having recently become empty nesters since their kids moved out, Kelly and Mark have embraced their newfound freedom, often sharing colorful anecdotes about life at home.

While their gift-giving debate may have some fans raising eyebrows, it highlights a relatable issue for many families with adult children. As the holiday season approaches, it seems the Consuelos family still has some decisions to make.
