In a concerning development, Massachusetts authorities arrested a man on Wednesday for repeatedly threatening former President Donald Trump on Facebook. The state's prosecutor's office announced that the suspect, 45-year-old Andrew Emerald, allegedly posted a series of alarming messages online.
Between May and July 2025, Emerald posted eight messages in which he threatened to harm Trump, whom he referred to as a "monster." His messages included a chilling vow to track Trump down at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and "reduce it to ashes." Such threats have escalated into serious legal trouble for Emerald.
“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated, and we take these threats very seriously,” a spokesperson from the prosecutor's office stated.
Emerald now faces eight counts of transmitting threatening communications across state lines, with each count carrying potential penalties of up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
This incident is not isolated. Earlier this year, a Virginia man received a sentence of over two years for making similar threats against Trump. The heightened security concerns follow a dramatic assassination attempt in July 2024, when a man opened fire at Trump during a Pennsylvania campaign rally.
