Maya Rudolph Unveils Behind-the-Scenes Fun on 'Loot'

Maya Rudolph recently took to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to chat about some intriguing scenes from her popular Apple TV series, Loot. The comedic actress, known for her role as billionaire Molly Wells, shared insights from the season premiere that aired on October 15. It was then that audiences got a cheeky introduction to Henry Winkler’s character, Gerald Canning, a billionaire who heads a nudist colony.

Rudolph, in her characteristic humor, played it cool when Kimmel inquired about the set's state of undress. "Did I see a lot of penis?" she quipped. "And boobs?" However, Rudolph reassured viewers that the cast sported "tasteful" coverage, including nude-colored sportswear.

"Some of the stars were more than willing to bare even more skin," Rudolph revealed, "But we reassured them, 'It's okay.'"

Henry Winkler's Bold Role and Rudolph's Admiration

Winkler, best known for his iconic role as Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli on Happy Days, took on a bold role that embraced his comedic chops. While most of the nudity was tactfully censored, Rudolph recalled with a laugh that some of the elder cast members were unfazed by the prospect of baring it all.

Rudolph expressed her lifelong admiration for Winkler, sharing how she personally pitched the role to him, given her childhood adoration. In her words, "Arthur Fonzarelli was supposed to be my husband. I don't know what happened, but Henry is the greatest."

The Set Experience – A Glimpse of Future

Even host Jimmy Kimmel joined the banter, comparing the experience to gym locker rooms, where older guys offer a preview of what aging might hold. "The older guys like to give you a look at what the future holds," he joked, adding that it’s more a “threat” than anything.

The playful atmosphere on set seemed to match the sense of camaraderie among the cast. Rudolph humorously noted that despite the chilly set environment, some volunteers were eager to ditch their modest coverings entirely. "They were like, 'It's no problem at all. I can just take these shorts right off,'" she recounted with a chuckle.
