Nicole Kidman's Bold New Role

Nicole Kidman is no stranger to pushing boundaries in her roles. With a resume that includes daring performances in films like Eyes Wide Shut and The Paperboy, she's made a career of exploring complex characters. Her latest venture, however, in the A24 film Babygirl, took things to the next level. The film, directed by Halina Reijn, features Kidman as Romy Mathis, a New York CEO whose life is turned upside down by a younger intern played by Harris Dickinson.

The Strain of Intense Scenes

In Babygirl, Kidman found herself filming some of the most intense scenes of her career. These scenes were so demanding that they left the actress feeling like she never wanted to be touched again. In a candid revelation, Kidman admitted, "There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It's like, 'Don't touch me'." The raw intensity of these scenes pushed her to the brink, leading her to pause filming.

"There were times when we were shooting where I was like, 'I don't want to orgasm anymore. Don't come near me. I hate doing this. I don't care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it'."

Personal Implications

The film was released just months before Kidman filed for divorce from her husband of 19 years, country singer Keith Urban. While the divorce news shocked fans, sources close to the couple revealed that Urban supported Kidman’s artistic choices. "She is playing characters – she isn't playing Nicole Kidman," a source explained. "Keith isn't wincing during these types of scenes; he knows it is just part of the story."

Divorce and Future Plans

Kidman’s divorce filing has sparked speculation about how the couple will split their substantial assets, including a 'cocaine clause' in their prenuptial agreement that allegedly entitles Urban to $600,000 for each year of sobriety during their marriage. Regardless, both Kidman and Urban have agreed not to seek alimony or spousal support from each other. Kidman has requested primary custody of their two daughters, with a parenting plan that allows Urban visitation.
