A West Mercia Police constable, whose identity remains protected by an anonymity order, was dismissed following a misconduct hearing on May 12. Allegations against her included breaching police professional standards after sharing arrest details and posting explicit images on OnlyFans.
The constable came under scrutiny for sharing sensitive details about a man she arrested on December 7, 2021. She disclosed his name, custody status, and court appearance plans to a personal acquaintance. Additionally, she allegedly made offensive remarks about the man's partner. Her Police Federation representative contended that the acquaintance also witnessed the arrest, exaggerating the severity of the breach.
Further complicating matters, from 2022 to 2023, the officer engaged in an OnlyFans venture with her estranged husband. Their account featured over 700 explicit photos and videos, though her identity as a police officer was not revealed. Despite accepting the misconduct charge, she argued financial instability pushed her into it after a significant loss on an investment. Her estranged husband, also an officer, initiated the OnlyFans idea, seeing it as beneficial for both their finances and their relationship.
"Taking that level of seriousness into account, the only conclusion I can reach is your immediate dismissal," stated Chief Constable Richard Cooper.
Chief Constable Cooper acknowledged the officer's husband's influence and her lack of direct interaction with the account but emphasized the planned nature of the activities. He concluded that her actions constituted gross misconduct, warranting her immediate removal from the force.
The dismissal decision also resulted in the constable's name being added to the College of Policing’s barred list. Requests for her identification by Worcester News were denied due to the standing anonymity order. Chief Constable Cooper expressed his regret over the situation but affirmed that the decision was necessary given the circumstances. "I am sincerely sorry and I thank you for your service," he concluded.
