Discover 'Shed Stories': A Heartfelt Community Experience

Get ready for a unique theatrical journey with 'Shed Stories', a production that beautifully blends theatre, movement, and documentary. Inspired by interviews with members of Men’s Sheds across the nation, this performance captures the essence of community, connection, and the simple joys of life. Audiences will be enveloped by this intimate staging, where personal tales and stunning movement reveal the heart of these community spaces.

Commissioned by Lincoln Arts Centre and Applause Rural Touring, with funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, 'Shed Stories' promises a funny, thought-provoking, and uplifting experience. The show doesn't contain adult content, but it's recommended for ages 12 and up due to references to complex themes like mental health and loss.

“We aim to shine a light on the little things that keep us going – friendship, laughter… and a nice cup of tea,” shares a representative from the production.

You can catch this remarkable performance at the Rochdale Ukrainian Centre on November 8, 2025, with shows at 3pm and 7:30pm. Tickets start from £10, with accessibility options available.

Explore Rochdale's Rich History with Heritage Boat Tours

Step back in time with Hollingworth Lake’s Heritage Boat Tours, a year-round event that offers a glimpse into the area's fascinating past. From its inception in 1794 to its evolution as 'The Weighvers’ Seaport' and a beloved Victorian resort, Hollingworth Lake's history is brought to life through a 20-minute timeline room experience followed by a 25-minute ferry tour.

The upcoming tours are set for November 11 and November 25 at 1pm, with a total duration of 45 minutes. It's a perfect way to enjoy the lake's heritage in a friendly atmosphere. Due to space constraints, bookings are essential, and while guide dogs are welcome, other pets are not permitted.

Calling Young Performers for 'A Christmas Fair'

Oldham Coliseum Theatre is seeking young talents aged 8-21 for their dynamic new production, 'A Christmas Fair'. Directed by Jimmy Fairhurst and crafted with the creative flair of Not Too Tame, this site-specific revival promises to bring the magic of Christmas alive. Auditions will take place on November 7, and selected participants must be available from November 17 through January 2.

The show, running from December 17 to January 2, will bring together a stellar cast including Kelise Gordon-Harrison, John Henshaw, Samantha Robinson, Paddy Stafford, and Dickon Tyrrell. It's a great opportunity for young performers to join a professional stage production.

Whether you're a seasoned performer or a newcomer, enthusiasm and commitment are key. As Jimmy Fairhurst puts it, "You don’t need any experience – just enthusiasm, talent, and commitment!"
