In a development that has gripped San Antonio, 32-year-old Mirko Peter Kerkez was taken into custody on April 1, 2026. Bexar County jail records show this shocking arrest, as Kerkez faces serious allegations of possessing disturbing material depicting child sexual abuse. The charges come on top of an ongoing court case where he is accused of soliciting a minor online.
The arrest warrant reveals that Kerkez allegedly uploaded 37 explicit depictions of child abuse to a social media platform back in November 2024. One of the files is said to contain a 19-second video showing a child being abused. These allegations have understandably stirred strong reactions from the community.
“This case highlights the significant challenges law enforcement faces in combating online child exploitation,” commented an investigator involved with the case.
Further investigations by the Texas Attorney General’s Office intensified in November 2025 when search warrants targeted three accounts tied to Kerkez. Officers confiscated nearly 46 pieces of content deemed child pornography linked to one of these accounts. Disturbingly, Kerkez allegedly discussed fantasies involving minors as young as seven with another user online.
Adding to the case, Kerkez reportedly shared photos featuring his distinctive tattoos with other users, a move that aided in his identification. He now remains in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
Court documents reveal that Kerkez is also awaiting trial for online solicitation of a minor, which is labeled as a third-degree felony. This charge arose from an incident where Kerkez allegedly engaged in explicit conversations and shared a photo with an undercover investigator posing as a 15-year-old girl.
In March, a visit to Kerkez’s Northeast Side residence by AG’s office investigators uncovered more details about his activities. According to a resident, Kerkez was employed as a construction worker, currently working on a school renovation. His employment status adds another layer of public concern to this troubling case.
As new information emerges, the case against Kerkez continues to develop, keeping San Antonio residents on edge.
