Springview Man Arrested on Serious Charges

In Ainsworth, Nebraska, a 42-year-old man from Springview faces serious legal troubles. Jeffrey Nelson has been charged with 20 felony counts related to the possession of child sexual abuse material. This is not Nelson’s first run-in with the law, as he was previously arrested in November 2025 for attempting to entice a minor for sexual purposes.

Online Group Sparks Investigation

The case unraveled when an online group dedicated to exposing potential sexual predators tipped off the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. In November, the group reported that they had posted a decoy image of a young-looking woman, who was actually an adult. Jeffrey Nelson allegedly began communicating with the woman, believing she was a 14-year-old girl, according to court documents.

“Nelson reportedly asked what sexual favors he could receive for $200 and planned to meet the girl at a local hotel.”

Confrontation and Evidence Discovery

Nelson’s intentions led him to the Roadrunner parking lot in Ainsworth, where members of the child enticement group confronted him. This confrontation resulted in a deeper investigation, during which authorities searched Nelson’s phone. Investigators discovered approximately 60 videos and 30 images of illicit material depicting child sexual abuse, some involving children as young as five.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation is still underway as law enforcement has yet to examine all of the digital evidence retrieved from Nelson’s phone and other devices. The charges facing Nelson are grave, and as authorities continue to piece together evidence, more developments are expected in this case.
