Actress Sydney Sweeney is the face — and, quite literally, the body — of a new commercial for sports-betting company Novig. In the ad she appears nude and unambiguous about the concept, putting sports front and center while stripping back everything else.
The commercial opens with Sweeney asking, “Think you know sports?” as she holds footballs to her chest and dares viewers to prove it. From there she moves through a playful string of athletic imagery — from spinning a basketball on her finger while perched on a rim to shots of tennis, hockey, and more — repeatedly underscoring the single word: sports.
Sweeney is not just starring in the spot — she’s also a strategic partner and equity holder in Novig. The ad’s messaging is intentionally straightforward, positioning the platform as focused solely on sports and on user prediction takes rather than broader controversies or politicized markets.
"I wanted the campaign to be playful and clear — keep the noise out and make it all about the game," said Sweeney in a statement about the project.
Near the end of the commercial, Sweeney explicitly lays down Novig’s boundaries, saying: “No betting on wars or deaths and no politics. Just you, your takes, and sports.” That line reads as a deliberate contrast to other prediction platforms that permit more controversial markets.
The ad uses humor and a confident edge to make its point — the shock value of the nude imagery gets attention, while the voiceover and repeated visuals keep the pitch squarely about sports betting and user engagement.
Sydney Sweeney is best known for her television roles in Euphoria and Anyone but You. Earlier this year she returned as Cassie Howard for the final season of HBO’s Euphoria, capping a main role that spanned the show’s three seasons.
On the big screen, her most recent film was The Housemaid, an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel. The Housemaid was a commercial success, grossing over $400 million at the box office, and Lionsgate has already greenlit a sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, scheduled for release in 2027.
Before Euphoria and The Housemaid, Sweeney built her profile with credits on The Handmaid’s Tale, Everything Sucks!, and The White Lotus, along with roles in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Madame Web, and Immaculate. The Novig spot is the latest move as she expands into business ventures while continuing her acting career.
With this commercial, Sweeney is leaning into a creator-and-entrepreneur identity — appearing on-screen while holding a stake in the brand she’s promoting, and choosing an ad that’s deliberately designed to get people talking.
