TikTok Cracks Down on Content in Pakistan

In a move reflecting its commitment to user safety, TikTok has removed a staggering 28,198,284 videos in Pakistan during the third quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year. The social media giant's recent report highlights its efforts to uphold community standards and provide a secure digital space for its user base.

This massive content purge took place between July and September, with an impressive 99.8% of these videos being flagged by TikTok's automated detection systems. Notably, 95.9% of this content was removed within 24 hours of posting, underscoring the platform's dedication to swift action.

Global Impact and Measures

Globally, TikTok removed around 204 million videos during the same period, which constituted about 0.7% of all uploads to the platform. Out of these, automated systems identified 186,608,081 videos. Meanwhile, 8,950,735 videos were subsequently restored after further review, reflecting TikTok’s checks and balances to ensure fair moderation.

The platform also made strides in maintaining account integrity by deleting over 118 million fake accounts and 22 million accounts suspected to belong to underage users. "Our automated technology is the backbone of our operations, but human oversight ensures we address more complex cases," TikTok explained.
