Ukrainian OnlyFans creators are making waves in the news as they face scrutiny over unpaid taxes. The State Tax Service has reported a staggering tax debt amounting to UAH 384.7 million from local content creators. Data from Fenix International Ltd – the parent company of OnlyFans – has been at the center of this financial storm, revealing the substantial earnings of these creators over the last three years.
One of the most high-profile cases involves a model from Vinnytsia appealing a tax notice for UAH 12,853,196.63, claiming she received that amount over a three-year period from OnlyFans. In 2022 alone, her average monthly income was around UAH 945,000, yet the model is now contesting a required UAH 2,313,575.39 in personal income tax.
Another case from the Vinnytsia District Administrative Court involves a different model, with courts seeking evidence of her earnings from the UK-based Fenix International Ltd. Her tax woes also include an additional UAH 192,797.95 in military tax.
“The financial complexities our creators face highlight a pressing need for clearer regulations and support,” stated a representative from the creator community.
In Odessa, four models are facing similar turmoil. One is accused of evading taxes on $36,988 in earnings for 2022, with tax authorities demanding over UAH 300,000 in income tax and other fees. Her peer reportedly earned $63,350 in the same year, facing even steeper tax demands.
Another Odessa model, reported to have made $35,893, is contesting tax evasion charges, while yet another is under scrutiny for earnings of $122,627 over three years, with authorities demanding about 1 million UAH in taxes and fines.
The Kyiv District Administrative Court is also in the mix, with a case that remains tight-lipped on the exact earnings but demands proof from tax officials. Meanwhile, the Kirovohrad region saw its own OnlyFans creator make $43,321 over two years, prompting tax disputes over varied monthly earnings.
Despite the financial hurdles, some creators are successfully challenging these tax assessments, proving them unfounded. The debate continues as creators also push for the decriminalization of adult content, with notable support from public figures like Hetmantsev.
