In a dramatic twist, OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney is gearing up to defend herself in a murder trial by shedding light on her tumultuous relationship. The 30-year-old is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, in their Miami high-rise, but she contends it was an act of self-defense, supported by a series of text messages detailing alleged abuse.
According to new court documents, Clenney claims Obumseli was abusive on at least nine occasions, allegedly assaulting her and even causing fractures. Her defense hinges on these text messages that she says capture the physical and psychological torment she endured leading up to the tragic incident in April 2022.
“These messages reveal a chilling pattern of violence and manipulation,” Clenney's legal team argues, painting a picture of a relationship marred by control and abuse.
The chilling exchanges begin with Clenney's accusation in April 2021, where she texted Obumseli that he hit her "in my face as hard as you could.” Obumseli's response, claiming he meant only to move her hand, epitomizes the alleged pattern of diminishing his actions. In August 2021, further texts describe him “punching me in the back” and “attacking me,” which Clenney uses to substantiate her claims of sustained abuse.
Her lawyers argue these messages are consistent with her accounts of their toxic dynamic. The documents list numerous incidents of alleged violence, including a disturbing confrontation in September 2021 where Obumseli purportedly dislocated Clenney’s shoulder during an argument. Her testimony will reportedly include vivid recounts of being "struck, grabbed, shoved, restrained, choked," and more.
Clenney's claims extend beyond Miami to international soil. During a 2021 trip to Dubai, an argument over marijuana smoking laws allegedly escalated into violence, resulting in a fall that fractured her ribs. She also recounts an incident in Austin, Texas, where Obumseli reportedly twisted her arm, causing another injury.
The OnlyFans content creator, charged with second-degree murder, insists she acted in self-defense when she threw a knife at Obumseli during their fateful altercation, asserting she never intended to kill him. As her trial approaches, these text messages are poised to play a crucial role in her defense strategy.
