Sabrina Carpenter is taking serious steps to shield herself and her family from a fan who has crossed boundaries. According to TMZ reports from Monday, the pop sensation is pursuing a court-ordered restraining order against a man named William Applegate, who has repeatedly appeared at her residence unannounced.
The singer's team filed the necessary legal documents last Friday, highlighting an incident on May 23 when Applegate showed up at Sabrina's Los Angeles home without warning. The filings describe his actions as "deliberate, calculated and aggressive," leaving Sabrina understandably alarmed.
A Ring camera snapshot included in the petition captures the man in a long-sleeve shirt, attempting to access her home by trying the front door and ringing the bell. Despite security intervention, he refused to leave, pretending familiarity with Sabrina until authorities arrived and detained him. Astonishingly, less than a day post-arrest, he returned on May 24, leaving only when directed by security. His persistence continued on May 25, prompting yet another police response.
“William Applegate is a complete stranger to me. I have never met him or communicated with him in any way. I have no desire to meet him or communicate with him,” Sabrina stated in her court documents.
The court granted Sabrina a temporary restraining order, mandating the man to steer clear of her, her sister Sarah, and Sarah's boyfriend, George. An upcoming hearing will decide whether this temporary order becomes permanent, offering further peace of mind for the star.
It's undeniably a frightening ordeal, but Sabrina's decisive actions and her security team's efforts have ensured their safety thus far. Fans and followers are undoubtedly relieved to see her taking these protective measures.
