It looks like the ladies are breaking stereotypes and joining the party. According to Pornhub's Pride Insights 2026, almost half of the viewers of gay porn on the platform are women – an impressive 49.7 percent compared to 50.3 percent of men. This significant shift marks a rise from 43 percent in 2024 to nearly half now in 2026.
This uptick raises questions and speculation. While Pornhub hasn't provided a direct explanation, cultural phenomena like the popularity of "Heated Rivalry" could be a contributing factor. This trend also aligns with Pornhub's earlier revelation that women account for 38 percent of worldwide viewership across the site.
“The rise in female viewership of gay porn highlights a shift in cultural consumption habits,” shared a media analyst, underscoring the broader acceptance of diverse content.
Pornhub's insights don’t stop at gender. They've broken down viewership by age, revealing that 18 to 24-year-olds are the most active group, representing 31 percent of viewers. This group is also leading the charge in niche interests like cartoon gay porn, which is 267 percent more popular among them compared to other age groups.
Not to be left out, the 65 and older demographic makes up nine percent of viewers but is 26.3 percent more likely to explore gay porn. For this group, vintage and twink porn are particularly appealing, seeing a 29 percent and 24 percent higher interest, respectively.
Twink porn holds universal appeal on Pornhub, coming in as the second most-searched term during Pride Month. However, "Femboy" leads the pack as the top search term, echoing its popularity on Pornhub's straight site last year. Meanwhile, lesbian content's popularity has spun off a new dedicated segment – Pornhub Sapphic, launched just last month.
As the digital landscape of adult content continues to evolve, Pornhub's insights offer a glimpse into the changing dynamics of viewership, reflecting broader societal shifts and the ever-expanding taste of its audience.
