The Fight Begins: Cherie DeVille Takes on Bank of America

Controversial adult film star Cherie DeVille is making headlines after a heated exchange with Bank of America. The bank recently shut down her personal and business accounts, prompting DeVille to claim the move is politically charged and violates a federal executive order meant to prevent such actions.

DeVille took to Instagram to share her outrage, stating, "So Bank of America has just fired me as a customer. I know that is crazy because after literally years of banking with them, they closed all of my accounts, my personal accounts, uh, my business accounts, not because I committed fraud or did something illegal, not because I owe them money, but because I’m an adult content creator. That’s it. That’s the entire reason.”

The Video That Sparked It All

Last week, DeVille posted a video that quickly gained traction online. She argued that despite the controversial nature of her industry, her work is legal and she deserves the same banking access as any law-abiding American. "Whether you personally approve of my job or not is kind of beside the point," she said, emphasizing her right to operate as a legal business.

“Thankfully, I have already been able to find another bank, and that’s great for me, but not everybody has that privilege,” she explained. “So let me know in the comments if this has happened to you or somebody you know, and if you think that banks should continue to get away with this, just ripping people’s accounts away for no reason other than they don’t like your job.”

While DeVille managed to secure banking services elsewhere, she highlighted that not everyone in her industry might be so lucky. She called for those affected to share their stories, urging a broader conversation around "debanking."

Bank of America's Response and DeVille's Determination

In response to the uproar, a Bank of America spokesperson addressed the controversy, explaining that DeVille's accounts were closed due to "recent transactional activity" and not her profession. However, this explanation did little to soothe DeVille's concerns.

Unconvinced, DeVille took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a screenshot of the bank's communication, expressing her disbelief and calling out the bank's alleged political motivations. "This is the BS that @bankofamerica sent me. They’re lying. I have never done anything illegal," she tweeted, standing firm in her position.

Pushing Back: DeVille's Unyielding Stance

Despite advice from her PR team to dial down the rhetoric, DeVille remains vocal. "My mainstream PR just called, asking me to compromise," she tweeted, hinting at pressure from higher powers. Yet, she remains resolute, accusing the bank of targeting hundreds of legal adult content creators she knows.

In another post, DeVille made it clear she won't back down until Bank of America complies with the executive order. "The idiots at @BankofAmerica think I’m a dumb hoe," she tweeted defiantly. "Unfortunately I’m an articulate, wealthy adult star who chooses to hire multiple mainstream PR consultants."

As the saga continues, DeVille promises more surprises for the bank, keeping her followers engaged and the conversation alive. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
