In a chilling development in Beckley, WV, Douglas Dwayne Odham, 66, has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. This follows an extensive investigation by the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. The arrest took place on July 15 at Odham’s apartment located on Woodlawn Avenue.

The case first unfolded when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off state police about a suspicious Google account. According to the criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County Magistrate Court, a single image uploaded to this account triggered the investigation. Subsequent subpoenas linked the account to Odham's residence, prompting a detailed probe.

Investigation Uncovers Chilling Evidence

Upon obtaining a search warrant for the Google account, troopers discovered a significant amount of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), with more than 300 images and videos of prepubescent children. Coupled with a concerning search history related to CSAM, these findings led authorities to conduct a search of Odham’s home.

During the raid, the police seized two cellular devices containing further illicit material. Odham, after being read his Miranda rights, reportedly confessed to years of downloading such content, estimating he had amassed around 4,000 images.

Following his arrest, Odham was processed at the West Virginia State Police Beckley Detachment, then arraigned at Raleigh County Magistrate Court. He currently remains in custody at Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond. Although charged, Odham's innocence is presumed until proven guilty in a court of law.
