The Case Against the Influencer

A Granada-based influencer has been sentenced to a hefty 31-and-a-half years in prison for the heinous crime of sexually assaulting five minors. The shocking events occurred between May 2024 and dates not specified in the court documents. The Provincial Court of Granada also added an additional eight-month sentence for exposing another young person to pornographic content.

The man, in his thirties, was a familiar face online, presenting himself as a social media influencer while also running an e-cigarette business. According to court findings, he leveraged his public persona and connections with teenagers to earn their trust, only to satisfy his troubling desires. "The actions outlined in the ruling highlight a disturbing pattern of grooming and manipulation," a court representative noted.

A Breach of Trust

The court documentation revealed that the influencer had targeted teenagers in Granada, forming relationships with their social circles. By posing as a mentor and offering them opportunities in digital content creation, he gained their confidence. He invited them to his home, promising either personal or material benefits, thereby overcoming natural protective barriers. The judgment described these actions as creating a grooming dynamic that placed the minors in vulnerable positions.

"The defendant expressly denied having had any sexual contact with any of the minors," the ruling noted, but the court was not convinced.

Among his tactics, the influencer also organized football matches, further cementing his role as a trusted figure among the youth. However, during the trial that took place in May, he denied the accusations, attributing the claims to a misunderstanding involving a stolen mobile phone.

The Verdict and Its Aftermath

Despite the influencer's defense, the court found the victims' testimonies to be credible and ruled that the sexual assaults indeed happened. Consequently, he was convicted of five separate continuous sexual assault offenses, earning prison terms ranging from two to twelve years, along with an eight-month sentence for sharing pornographic material.

The influencer, a Pakistani national who has resided in Spain for several years, will now serve his sentence in a Spanish prison. The court dismissed the option of deportation, ensuring he completes his full term within the country. Furthermore, he faces restraining orders, a ban on working with minors, and mandated compensation payments to the victims.
