In a troubling turn of events, a resident from Overton County, Tennessee, has been taken into custody following a collaborative investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and Fairfax County Virginia Police Department. The case focuses on charges of sexual exploitation involving minors, stemming from activities on popular social media platforms.

Back in May, law enforcement in Fairfax County received alarming details about a minor sending child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to an adult male through TikTok and text messages. The ensuing investigation led them to identify Tristan Hicks as the suspect behind the social media account. Since Hicks was based in Tennessee, the TBI's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit was brought in to further probe the matter.

The investigation uncovered that Hicks allegedly engaged with numerous minors across the Cookeville area and beyond, convincing them to send him CSAM in return for money. Following these revelations, authorities issued a warrant for Hicks, charging him with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and four counts of Solicitation of a Minor.
