BANGKOK – Thai anti-trafficking police have detained a 25-year-old influencer in a major crackdown on child exploitation. The influencer, known online as "Jaonai," allegedly coerced a 17-year-old girl into creating explicit content for platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and OnlyFans. This operation underlines Thailand's firm stance against digital child exploitation and human trafficking within hidden online communities.

Under orders from Central Investigation Bureau Commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Natthasak Chaowanasai, officers from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) executed a raid in Bangkok on July 25. Led by ATPD Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Wittaya Sriprasertphab, they arrested the suspect, who had turned his condo into a production hub for illicit videos marketed to his extensive social media following.

“This arrest illustrates our dedication to dismantling networks that exploit vulnerable individuals,” stated ATPD Commander Sriprasertphab.

Inside the Secret Network

The investigation began after authorities discovered suspicious activities on the social platform X. Boasting nearly 250,000 followers, "Jaonai" used this audience to post teaser clips, enticing users towards locked, paid communities. The strategy involved enticing followers to transfer money directly into his bank account to access these groups.

Upon gaining access, members could view full-length explicit material, including content featuring the underage victim. This discovery prompted the escalation of charges to human trafficking and child exploitation, as authorities uncovered the influencer's gross misuse of his online presence for financial gain.

Charges and Legal Actions

Police raided the influencer's condo in Bangkok's Ramkhamhaeng 2 area, equipped with a full production studio. Seizing mobile devices and lighting equipment, investigators also unearthed a vast collection of explicit content. The suspect faces charges of human trafficking, child abduction, illegal detention, and distributing child pornography for profit.

He remains in custody as inquiry officers from the ATPD further investigate, aiming to identify additional victims or accomplices. This case represents a significant step in Thai law enforcement's efforts to combat cybercrime and exploitation of minors.
