Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is at the center of a new legal storm following a lawsuit filed by a former child actor. The suit, submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, accuses Combs of sexual assault at a Hollywood Hills networking event back in May 2007. Combs, currently serving a 50-month sentence in Fort Dix federal prison for prostitution charges, is alleged to have taken the plaintiff to a secluded room at the event, offering alcohol before engaging in inappropriate acts.
The plaintiff, who remains unnamed, claims he was lured by the promise of career advancement when Combs approached him under the guise of discussing a project. The lawsuit further implicates the plaintiff’s former talent agencies, Lang Talent and Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier & Hinojosa, alleging they conspired to place the minor in proximity to influential industry figures, exposing him to potential exploitation.
The lawsuit lists eight claims against Combs and the involved agents, ranging from childhood sexual assault to negligent supervision. Notably, the negligence claims exclude Combs, focusing solely on the plaintiff's representatives, who allegedly ignored warning signs of Combs’ "sexually deviant propensities."
“These allegations from this so-called nameless child actor are false and ridiculous,” stated Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, in response to the lawsuit.
Combs’ legal team remains adamant in their denials, dismissing the claims as an attempt to extract financial gain, labeling the plaintiff as yet another individual influenced by personal injury lawyers.
Combs’ imprisonment stems from his conviction on charges linked to the Mann Act, a law prohibiting transportation for the purpose of prostitution. Although acquitted of more severe charges like racketeering conspiracy, his legal woes have snowballed since 2023 with numerous lawsuits, including a high-profile case settled with Cassie Ventura for $20 million.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has been actively reviewing these claims, further spurred by additional allegations from music producer Jonathan Hay, who accused Combs of misconduct during their collaborations in 2020 and 2021. Both the LAPD and the Sheriff’s Department presented these cases to prosecutors, intensifying the scrutiny around Combs’ actions.
