Dominic Justin Pereira, a New Jersey resident, is currently held in Franklin County Jail after failing to post a $200,000 bail. Pereira is facing multiple felony charges, including the dissemination of explicit sexual material to a minor, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor. The charges stem from an investigation that began on April 22, initiated by a cybertip from the New Jersey State Police to the Washington Township Police.

Investigators revealed that Pereira allegedly communicated with a juvenile from Franklin County, exchanging explicit content. Court records indicate that Pereira remains incarcerated as he awaits further court proceedings. The nature of the charges has raised significant concerns about online safety and the protection of minors.

Investigation Uncovers Disturbing Details

The investigation uncovered that the victim was only 13 years old during the alleged incidents, later turning 14 by the time of the police interviews. Forensic data retrieved from the victim’s phone, as well as records from Pereira’s cellphone provider and Snapchat, reportedly corroborated the allegations against him. Despite the images sent to Pereira being sourced from the internet and not depicting the juvenile, authorities claim Pereira was fully aware of the explicit nature of the material he shared with a minor.
